On Site / In-Service Training

Science First / STARLAB does not perform training on a local basis.  Many purchasers of STARLAB planetariums are repeat customers and do not require training.  We do maintain a listing of Ambassadors that perform training within a given geographic region.  Many of our ambassadors are long time STARLAB users and trainers and have a wealth of information available for new users.  STARLAB ambassadors are not Science First / STARLAB employees, and must be contracted with independently.  Please visit our Local STARLAB Visits page for the complete Ambassador listings.

 Included Digital Institute Training

Basic Digital STARLAB training is available through the resources listed above.  The manual and training video will instruct the user on the basic set-up and start-up of their Digital STARLAB.  Software instruction is available through the help menu and included curriculum withing the Small Dome program.

All new purchases of a Digital STARLAB allow for up to four individuals to attend a "Digital Institute".  The Digital Institute is an in-depth training session allowing for hands-on instruction from basic to advanced levels.  The session is held free of charge for new purchasers, contact us for rates of extra attendees or non-purchase training.  Science First / STARLAB hosts Digital Institutes near our facility in Buffalo, NY on an as needed basis.  We may by request be able to coordinate with a local institution to allow for continuing education credits to be earned.  Travel, lodging, and continuing education fees are the responsibility of the attendee.  Arrangements may be made to add training costs into the overall STARLAB purchase for grant proposal purposes on an individual basis.  Please contact us for more information.

On Site Training

On site training is available from Science First / STARLAB at extra cost.  On site training allows for unlimited numbers of trainees to have training catered to their needs and level of involvement.  Please contact us for training rates.  Arrangements may be made to add training costs into the overall STARLAB purchase for grant proposal purposes on an individual basis.
